The Townsville Touch Referees Association held a Referee Directors Meeting today to discuss a few points in regards to this season.

Once of the main points of the meeting was each clubs list of referees and membership forms (see my previous post). We are currently just over quota (we need 24 referees, we have 25), thanks to the help of Kelly Condon and the Referee Roster System.

The issue of uniforms was again raised (as it has been in previous years). Referees on fields one and two are expected to be in, at the very least, white socks, shorts and a referees shirt. All other fields must be in at least a referees shirt.

All players are expected to be in full uniform (from Easter onwards) so it is only fair that all referees are as well. There is a 15 minute break between games to allow those who have just played plenty of time to get changed.

Also raised was the upcoming referees courses. For those referees who wish to complete a level one, two or three referees course, please see my previous post about the upcoming courses. You need to complete the registration forms and return them to the NQ Touch Office by COB on Wednesday March 24th.

There was also a reminder issued about the Zero Tolerance Policy in regards to Player/Coach/Referee Communication. You can download a copy of the policy here.

Overall I haven't heard of any complaints arising from or about Redskins teams so I must thank all teams for a clean slate so far. Having said that, we are still in early days so please remember that there are procedures to follow if you have a problem in one of your games (see the policy for more information).

Hi Kerrod is there anyway the refs can call teams out to line up at 3 or 5 min mark.we were called out in the middle of our warm up 13 min before game start that seems a bit crazy to me next time we will warm up on field 8 if we cant get a decient warm up.

We aim for 5 mins but most of us don't wear watches so sometimes we're bound to call teams out a bit earlier.

No referee that I know would deliberately call teams out earlier just to stop them warming up.
